When you are getting ready to launch a new website, it can be overwhelming, with the amount of tasks on your to-do list to get it launched. It is easy to go too fast, feeling a sense of urgency to put yourself out there, to make money, and to share what you have to offer so people can benefit from it.

I invite you to Wait. Stop. Take a time out.

I am  not suggesting you procrastinate, or go so deep down the perfectionism rabbit-hole that you avoid launching. What I am suggesting, is that you take the time to get very clear about your message before you launch. Yes, your business will grow and change and evolve as you do, but take the time first to be clear on these things before you write your web copy:

  • What is important to you?
  • Who are you speaking to?
  • What are you offering?
  • What do you want people to do when they go to your site?

Take the time to answer these questions before you start writing your web copy. If you get clear about this on your homepage, anyone coming to your site will be clear about what you offer, and if you are a good fit to work with them. Be clear, be concise, and be bold.
